In the analysis of fluoride ions using ion chromatography, depending on the analytical conditions, products generated by the addition of ethylenediamine to the sample may interfere with the peak of the fluoride ions. Similarly, the separation of silicate ions and fluoride ions is also important for the quantification of fluoride ions. Using the ion chromatograph "IC-8100 series" and the high-performance IC column "TSKgel SuperIC-AnionHS," it is possible to separate these interfering substances. In the IC column "TSKgel SuperIC-Anion HS," the coexisting carbonate ions do not affect the peaks of common inorganic anions.
Using the ion chromatograph "IC-8100 series" and the high-performance IC column "TSKgel SuperIC-AnionHS," carbonate ions elute at a position that does not overlap with the peaks of the standard seven anions. Therefore, even in samples where carbonate ions coexist at high concentrations, the quantification of other anions is not an issue. The column "TSKgel SuperIC-Anion HS" for high-performance IC enables the analysis of nitrite nitrogen in high concentrations of chloride ions.
Using the ion chromatograph "IC-8100 series" and the high-performance IC column "TSKgel SuperIC-AnionHS," it is possible to measure 4 ppb of nitrite nitrogen in a sample containing 50 ppm of chloride ions with a system that uses only a conductivity detector. When using a UV absorbance detector, it is possible to measure trace amounts of nitrate nitrogen in samples containing higher concentrations of chloride ions.
